AAA attends AFIF 15-16th Feb 2017

Feb 27, 2017
The Africa Finance and Investment Forum (AFIF), an annual business platform, started in 2005. Its aim is to encourage entrepreneurship and strengthen professional capacities, promote SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) growth and attract the right investments to Africa. Not wanting to miss its 360° experience, I, AAA Director, Mr. Farid Karama and Pan Africa Board Vice Chairman, Mr. Birungi Stephen attended this year’s 2017
forum.
The forum was focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and access to Finance in key sectors such as Energy, Agriculture, Water and Health, under the theme
“Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Growth.”
Convened by EMRC and hosted by the Strathmore University in Nairobi, the two day
forum allowed us to listen to a panel of discussions. This gave us insights about access to Finance from experts working at leading international institutions and local Enterprises. A road-map for entrepreneurship growth.

One of the highlights of the program was the awards ceremony where six African SMES were nominated as finalists of the AFIF Entrepreneurship Award 2017 supported by Rabo Foundation. The finalists presented their ideas and the jury selected the best project. The winner came from Tanzania and was awarded during the Gala Dinner.

Another capstone of the forum was the B2B Sessions. These were the tailor made
business-to- business meetings arranged with the new matchmaking technology. AAA
actively participated in the meetings that were arranged and we were able to forge discussions for partnerships with fellow delegates from Africa, America, Europe and Asia.
